• Sayādaw U Asabha’s Biography
• As early as 1952, at the request of the Thai Minister for Sangha Affairs, Mahāsī Sayādaw had sent Sayādaws U Asabha and U Indavamsa to Thailand for the promotion of satipaṭṭhāna vipassanā. Thanks to their efforts, Mahāsī  Sayādaw’s method gained wide acceptance in Thailand. By 1960, many meditation centres had been established and the number of Mahāsī meditators exceeded a hundred thousand.
