- Sayādaw Jnanapurnik’s Biography
- Sayādaw Nyanapurnik is a senior Nepalese monk of Sakyan descent. He is a Pāḷi scholar and Vipassanā teacher, and has been actively working for the development of Theravāda Buddhism in Nepal for half a century.
Ordained at the age of 16, Sayādaw Nyanapurnik studied the Dhamma extensively in Nepal and Myanmar.
In 2001, he was awarded a high order title Agga Mahā Saddhammajotikadhaja from the Government of Union of Myanmar for his outstanding work in Dhamma propagation in Nepal and internationally.
He speaks 7 languages and closely associated with Mahāsī Sayādaw and Sayādaw U Paṅḍiṭābhivaṃa, serving as their interpreter on many occasions.
